What Makes Madi....Madi Part I and Caturday Art

We have been owned by 3 furbabes during our 47 years of marriage.
A mighty mini Dachshund, Toto almost 11 years, 200% hound and full of mischief

Milky-way our first cat 14 1/2 years, always the gentleman, laid back and human like.
and then there is Madison D Cat aka Madi.

She is truly a combination of Toto and Milky-Way.

Matriarch Madi 16 years and counting, a perpetual teenage human and  360 degrees different from Milky-way.

All in all there have been 6 other cats in our extended family, so I feel I have known enough cats.  Madi has some habits/traits/oddities that we think make her rather UNIQUE.  Today I'll tell you about them.
I also would like to point out that Milky-way lived in this house his entire life, as has Madi.
He was a laid back tabby, conformed to all our habits never made waves.
NOT MADI
We're pretty sure Toto the Mighty Mini was reincarnated into Madi the Magnificent.

Miscellaneous
Vocalizing:
Milky-way was not very vocal....we have often said Madi meowed more the
first week she was here than Milky-way did in 14 1/2 years. We always know
what Madi feels about any situation.
*******
Every single night between 9 and 10 pm, when I am sitting on the love seat watching TV,
Madi comes up, stands on her back feet, gives me a itty bitty kitty Meow, while reaching out with one of her front paws to gently touch me on the arm.
In reality, I think she is politely reminding me it is time for me move from her favorite night time sleeping surface.
Whatever the reason, it is ever so precious, it warms my heart..
100% re-enactment💞
To be continued tomorrow......

Flower Friday

Today we're featuring our glorious white dogwood flowers that appear to be floating.
and our Harry Garrod  Azaleas.  Top two are from 2016 and their first blooming season
Bottom right is April 2018.  We were so happy to see it bloom we really thought the
horribly cold and fridge January 2018 killed it.  Still flowers opening.  It will be full soon;
And as of April 10th we have one LONE bright yellow Daffodil standing proudly behind the
Azalea.

This poem was written by none other than the most wonderful author
A.A. Milne. We are posting it in honor of the lone Daffie!!
Mr Milne definitely observed Daffies at their best.

Happy Friday the 13th of April.
Mom is not superstitious but OMCs her Dad aka Papa was.
Here are somethings she remembers that he did
If he spilled salt, he would take the shaker and throw salt over his left shoulder.
At night if a car with one headlight was coming toward him (not sure if I can explain this but I'll do my best)
He would lick his thumb, press it into the palm on the opposite hand and then quickly lift both hands up.  Kinda like he was releasing something.

Did you ever wonder......

Where did the superstition of Friday the 13th come from?
In the novel, an unscrupulous broker takes advantage of the superstition to create a Wall Street panic on a Friday the 13th. A suggested origin of the superstition—Friday, 13 October 1307, the date Philip IV of France arrested hundreds of the Knights Templar—may not have been formulated until the 20th century.

Thoroughly Poetic Pictorial Thursday

Today we join Two  SPOILED CAT
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

Today's photo prompt is a beautiful produce market.
When Mom saw it, she immediately thought of a funny story.

Strange things happen at Markets

When sis was a just a wee little miss,
a few months shy of year two
Plans were in the making with our crew...
Mom, Dad, sis, *Papa and Loula too.
Off to CA they would go.
Sissy wanted to visit Mickey Mouse.
Several days were planned at that mouse's house.
Then they were on their way to the S.F. Bay.
To the the famous Farmer's Market they went the first day.
The big peeps were hungry.
There was so much to see, and smell no one could say
exactly what they craved.
They parked sissy's stroller in the shade 'cause
she lay sleeping and dreaming of Mickey at play.
Then out of no where there was a splat...
mom said what the WORLD was that?
Lo and behold a burd with atrocious manners
Was perched above their table.
Sissy was too pooped to know the burd had pooped upon her shoulder!
Back then Mom was not an old gray mare!
She was quick as greased lightning and quite able!
She had an arsenal of wipes, extra clothes and such
she cleaned up sissy lickety split.

*Papa and Loula were Mom's parents.
Before sissy was born, Mom's mama said she hoped the baby would call her something
unusual.  Mom's, Mom's given name was Lou...just Lou not Louise.
The peeps are pretty sure Sissy heard mom's dad call her Lou.
As soon as Sissy started talking Lou became Loula.
From that day forward nearly everyone who knew Mom's Mom called her Loula
even at work and Loula LOVED IT!!
